Why learn with us?
At Adventure Education English Camp, we begin to cultivate a positive attitude towards learning English. We believe that by teaching English in harmony with nature, we can create a sense of freedom and confidence that helps students communicate with ease.
We take a Conscious teaching approach, where each learner is seen and heard exactly how they are when they arrive. We never force learning to happen, it is occurs when the learner is ready. Each young person is free to engage in the learning scenarios whenever they are ready. Often they will spend the first session or two listening more than speaking, until they find a person or situation they are comfortable with, this is very important to create a positive space for learning to happen.

How does English Forest School work?
We make English natural
The Forest School activities and other learning activities make learning English inspiring.
Children love our sessions.
Immersing yourself in nature and immersing yourself in language are the same actions.
They don't need to speak English, only when they are ready, confident and comfortable with it.
Children learn
The language has a chance to be used in a meaningful and active way. They do what they learn.
We carefully plan every outdoor session
Each day there is a theme to help learn everyday English. It is also structured to be safe, build social confidence and learn new skills. There is a maximum of 12 children per day.
Language production is encouraged.
Each session has a language learning objective to allow the children to produce a new language vocabulary.
Materials provided
Children often take crafts home with them so their enthusiasm and learning continues after class.
Children reflect on and internalize their learning
We work with the whole child and their role in the group. The sessions end with a review of what they learned and how they felt.
BOOK HERE:
A day in the forest.

-
Each day starts with a grounding circle, a chance to sit quietly and start our time together from a zero point, welcoming all that has happened before we arrive and allowing it to be left behind, or tended too if needed. We will register names and go over the basic rules.
-
Self directed learning activities: Learners will have the choice to take part in a variety of activities including art /craft, den building, bushcraft skills or junk play. Or they can just relax and self-regulate.
-
Lunch. We always lunch together as a group. It is a chance to reset and solve any issues or discuss successes.
-
The afternoon session is theme based, a different one each day. It is a chance to explore subject specific language as a group. The themes will be Food and Cooking, Travel and Adventure, Home and Living and The Natural World. Learners do not have to take part and are welcome to carry on with their self-directed activities if they wish.
-
Just as we work together in the day, we clear away and sit together at the end. A chance to share what we have learnt and celebrate challenges and successes.
-
Food. Learners may eat and drink whenever they like. All food will stay in an eating zone. The only food provided will be for the cooking themed activity day.
